Would you buy a house with a number 4 in it? In Chinese culture we are told that some numbers are lucky and others not so lucky. But from a Feng Shui perspective is it really all that bad?
Should you buy a house that has a number 4 in it?
We have heard that some numbers are good or bad but what is the reason why?
The number 4 is associated with being unlucky as the pronunciation in Chinese of the number itself sounds like the word ‘death’. In parts of Asia there are no such thing as a level 4 or apartments with a 4 in the number because of this belief.
Following the same logic, number 3 is considered lucky as it sounds like ‘birth’ and number 8 is thought of as very lucky as it sounds like the word for ‘prosper’ or ‘wealth’. Similarly, combinations of numbers can be lucky, for example 28 sounds like ‘easy to prosper’.
From a Feng Shui perspective, each number represents different meanings however there is nothing to support certain numbers being lucky or unlucky. It is more important to consider the energy within each sector of a home rather than the number on the letterbox.
From a Feng Shui perspective the number of your house does not impact your life. It is more important to look at the energy of your property. In fact, my house number has a 4 in it!
Having said that, the only time that a number on your front door may impact your life is if you hold certain beliefs about a number such as in certain cultures (including Western culture with the number 13). If you believe that something is good or bad, the likelihood of this being good or bad increases. You are in effect creating your own destiny with your beliefs and thoughts.
So if you don’t believe the number 4 is bad then chances are it won’t be bad and you can pick up a cheaper property!
